Lesson #1 Preschool 3-5 Years Old
Scripture: "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right” (Ephesians 6:1).
1) Sing a song.
2) Pray for what you’re going to teach them and that they will understand the lesson.
3) Ice Breaker: Mommy and Daddy role play for younger toddler/toddlers.
- One person calls for another on the other side of the room.
- Other person doesn’t respond.
- Try’s to call again.
- Other person says, ‘No!” and doesn’t come.
- The one person who called asks the other, “Did you obey Mommy/Daddy?” and then
explains to the other person how important it is to obey the first time. There could be an emergency (fire, injury, danger, etc.).
4) Try the role play again.
- One person calls for another on the other side of the room.
- Other person responds fast.
- Person who called the other should encourage them with enthusiasm and excitement.
5) Daddy and Mommy role plays with the toddler.
- Call toddler over and immediately prays and encourage them for coming.
6) If toddler doesn’t come immediately, try demonstrating role play again and reinforce
that they need to come the first time they are called or asked to do something.
7) Pray again before putting them to bed or play a family activity (bubbles, clean-up
song, bed time story, etc.)
8) Don’t forget to reflect back to the family night throughout the week when there’s a
challenge or when you’re having a fun time together.
