Teen Service - Preaching by Brian Strange

October 4th, 2009 - The Teen Ministry of the Hampton Roads Church had the priveledge of leading the worship service this past Sunday.  Leading the song, communion, and preaching portions of our service, the Teens stepped up to encourage and challenge all of our hearts to sacrifice "foolishly."  Going along with our Fall Campaign, "Fools For Christ," the lesson exposed just how much we sacrifice for lesser things, yet motivated us to be a fellowship that holds nothing back, and gives all.   Witnessing the Teen Led service gave the church a sense of great joy and hope knowing that the future of the church will continue to preach passionately and with conviction about how God expects us to sacrifice it all in order to see Him glorified.

4th Annual Teen Service at King's Dominion

King's Dominion Entrance

September 27th, 2009 -  King's Dominion theme park has by and large been known for its life-swirlling roller coasters and stomach churning drops and dives, but on one Sunday every year for the past 4 years Teen Ministries from Maryland, D.C., and the state of VA have gathered to worship together. Hosted by the Potomac Valley Church, Kings Dominion opened up its doors to allow 200 plus teens and their parents the opportunity to have a teen led service on site.  It was an uplifting and encouraging experience as the teens led the song, prayer, and communion portions of the service.  The word was preached and called all who attended to have a heart for "Extreme Christianity," knowing that Jesus called all those who followed him to have nothing less than an "Extreme" commitment to His word and His will.  King's Dominion provided an "extreme" backdrop for our service, and it provided memorable imagery during the lesson as we were encouraged to stay off the "tea cups and ferris wheels" spiritually.

After the service we enjoyed great fellowship throughout the park and while riding on all that King's Dominion had to offer.  Events such as these have built a solid foundation of friendship and unity between the Teen Ministries in Maryland, D.C., and VA.  It was a fantastic time as we are already looking forward to next year!  Keep an eye out for the 5th Annual King's Dominion Teen Service!!
