Teen Ministry Corner

This summer the Hampton Roads Church Teen Ministry will participate in a campaign that is focused on raising the bar of what it means to be a Teen in this day and age.  Often hampered by what the world expects from Teens, our ministry is set on a course to obliterate those expectations by focusing on what God expects from them! 

The guys will be reading a book titled "Do Hard Things" and the girls will be reading a book titled "Glory Days" while participating in a 6 week campaign filled with Devotionals, Service Opportunities, Evangelism, and a Summer full of literally "doing hard things" for God!  We hope by our focus and desire to do hard things for God, our Teen Ministry will meet Gods great expectations and grow tremendously!

Dress CODE (semi-formal)
The brothers: at least shirt and tie with a jacket please –sisters will be encouraged
The sisters: Please no Spaghetti Straps, Halter Tops, or Strapless not even with a shawl since it might get hot and you will remove it.

Extra Fellowship
11am - 3pm on that day @ 89^th Street for exciting activities and beach games.  We will be joined by the Campus Ministries in Hampton Roads for a fun afternoon of fellowship!
No food will be provided, however, we will supply water.

Parents Night Out

PARENTS EVENT LOCATION HAS BEEN CHANGED!  Kurt and Ruth Woodham will be having the BBQ at their house @7pm in the nearby Great Neck area of Virginia Beach instead of the church building.  We will have directions to the BBQ in the lobby of the Shearton Hotel!

The Spring Teen Retreat is right around the corner!  This years retreat will take us back to Camp Friendship (www.campfriendship.com) for another weekend filled with fun, fellowship, and spirituality.  This years guest speakers will be Sam and Michelle Cameron!  Sam and Michelle have been leading the Teen Ministry in West Palm Beach, Florida in a powerful way are are exciting to come speak to us at our annual Spring retreat. 

Sam and Michelle both went to college in Virginia at Old Dominion and James Madision Universities, respectively.  Sam, converted as a student-athlete at ODU and Michelle, converted as a Teen in Sydney, Australia have had a great impact on the state of Virginia serving in the Ministry together at James Madision University before moving to serve in West Palm Beach.  We are thrilled to have them come back to preach to us!

When:  Saturday March 6th - Sunday March 7th

Who:  All Middle and High School Teens

Cost:  $42 - covers lodging and 2 meals (sat-dinner; sun-breakfast)

- Please plan to arrive at 10 A.M. on Saturday March 6th to receive lodging/etc.
